This year, it will be bigger and brighter than ever, with a keynote from celebrated businessman, philanthropist, and art collector Leonard Lauder, presentations of the Sinton and Dinkelspiel awards, and many esteemed guests – making it a truly memorable day to celebrate philanthropic intention, legacy, and impact.
Attendees get to explore personal, technical, and cutting-edge issues that impact philanthropy today. The day-long activities include the Luncheon, Honorees, the Tax and Estate Planning Seminar, Afternoon Workshops, and a Cocktail Reception.

Leonard A. Lauder is Chairman Emeritus of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and the senior member of its Board of Directors. Founded in 1946 by his parents, Estée and Joseph Lauder, the company is one of the world's leading manufacturers and marketers of quality skin care, makeup, fragrance, and hair care products, with annual sales of nearly $12 billion. In addition to his activities with The Estée Lauder Companies, Mr. Lauder is extremely involved in the worlds of education, art, politics, and philanthropy.

In honor of Robert Sinton, a businessman and community leader whose dedication to the Federation and other Bay Area organizations spanned more than five decades, this leadership award embodies his passion for Jewish communal volunteerism and includes a financial stipend to a Jewish agency or organization chosen by the recipient.

Giving Circles: The Future of Venture Philanthropy

Jewish giving circles offer a hands-on and strategic way for people to become educated about issues and organizations aligned with their giving mission. This panel will include members of three Federation-hosted giving circles, who will discuss the impact and future of venture philanthropy.
Art and Philanthropy

Join us for an in-depth perspective on the intersection of Jewish philanthropy and Bay Area arts institutions. Learn how our community is supporting and nurturing world-class music, dance, theater, and museums – both large and small – to ensure their continued growth and vibrancy.

Honoring the Federation’s first president, the annual Lloyd W. Dinkelspiel Award for Young Leadership (inaugurated in October of 1959) recognizes an outstanding young leader in the local Jewish community.

We will go through those together to sharpen your international estate planning issue-spotting skills, so that you can be better prepared to help clients in real life situations.

Purchase of U.S. Real Estate by Foreign Nationals
This session will cover U.S. income, gift and estate tax considerations for foreign nationals buying homes and other property in the U.S., including the use of “blocker” corporations, partnerships and trusts, and other techniques to reduce U.S. tax exposure. We will also touch on other asset classes and will cover new reporting requirements that could affect foreign buyers.

Continuing education credit will be available to attorneys, certified public accountants, certified financial planners, and certified investment management analysts.
